Football fans caught up in train chaos

MORE THAN 100 passengers were led to safety this afternoon after a train engine caught fire on a bridge over a main road near Colchester.

Around 20 fire fighters were called to the incident over the A120 at Ardleigh, which happened at approximately 3pm.

Around 20 fire fighters were called to the incident over the A120 at Ardleigh, which happened at approximately 3pm.

The train is believed to be the 1400 London to Norwich service.

Following the incident, all other trains in both directions were suspended.

Ipswich Town and Arsenal fans were among train travellers delayed at Ipswich station after the match finished at Portman Road.
