AN inquiry was underway at ITV last night after millions of football fans missed the crucial goal at the end of an FA Cup tie.
The clash between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park was heading for a penalty shoot out in the last minute of extra time when the screens switched to an advertising break.
A minute later the pictures returned and the winning goal scored by Everton's Dan Gosling had been missed by millions of viewers.
Programme host Steve Ryder apologised twice to viewers before the end of ITV's live coverage of the match. The reason for the interruption was not clear last night.
