A CHAMPIONSHIP footballer has been fined after admitting attacking a nightclub doorman with his girlfriend's handbag, leaving him with a three-inch gash to his head.
Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake launched the assault on Greg Smith, 37, outside Plymouth nightclub Candy Store after he had been thrown out in the early hours last November.
Ebanks-Blake pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm and a second public order offence of using threatening or abusive language at Plymouth Crown Court.
He was ordered to pay a fine of £1,350, compensation of £500 and prosecution costs of £650.
