A FOOTBALL fan who posted hundreds of messages on a website dedicated to Ipswich Town has been disciplined for "excessive and inappropriate" use of the internet.
The temporary worker at Cambridgeshire County Council faced disciplinary action from bosses after they discovered his prolific contributions to the message board on the Those Were The Days website.
He had been working at the council for about a year after being recruited by an agency, but will leave when his contract comes to an end next month.
The contributor had posted 55 messages on Monday morning alone before being warned over his internet usage.
The site, at twtd.co.uk has more than 3,000 registered users with hundreds of postings on the message board every day.
A spokesman for the council said the temp had been warned over "personal use of the internet in office hours. He has not been sacked, but has been disciplined for excessive and inappropriate use of the internet.
"There was no suggestion of there being any offensive material and his work during his time here has been exceptionally good. He will leave at the end of February when his contract comes to a natural end, but that is unconnected to this matter."
