A WELL-respected Suffolk headteacher has died.

David Floyd was head of Holywells High in Ipswich before moving to Thomas Mills High School at Framlingham in 1995. He retired from Thomas Mills in 2005.

Mr Floyd, who lived in Capel St Mary, was highly thought of during his long career in teaching.

Sally Simpkin, Suffolk County Council's area director for children and young people's services, said: “David Floyd worked in Suffolk for many years, latterly as headteacher at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham.

“He was head at the school for ten years and Thomas Mills flourished under his distinguished leadership. In all of his roles he was well respected by pupils, staff and parents.”
