THE former leader of the Labour Party, Michael Foot, has died at the age of 96.

THE former leader of the Labour Party, Michael Foot, has died at the age of 96.
He was a member of parliament from 1945-92 and was at the helm of the Labour party from 1980-83.
Mr Foot was a life-long supporter of Plymouth Argyle football club and was registered as an honorary player on his 90th birthday.
His wife, the author and film maker Jill Craigie, pre-deceased him in 1999.
Mr Foot's death was announced today.
