Acts have been announced for a free concert that aims to celebrate diversity in Ipswich.

The event, called Love Our Diversity, has been organised by former X Factor contestant Tendai Senah and will take place on September 17 at University Campus Suffolk from 6pm to 9pm.

Lined up to perform are lawyer and poet Christopher Cumberbatch, singer/songwriters Abigail Angus, Jade Peters, Aaron Allen, singer and tennis player Tawana Senah, poet and Tisrespect founder Curtis Blanc, duo Avenir Avenue and youth worker Ian Parsons.

Miss Senah said: “We’re happy to be a part of what is a great cause for our community. When we look back to around 2002, Ipswich wasn’t as diverse as it is now, and it’s great to see so many different cultures come in.”

The 26-year-old, who lives in the town, has launched her own company called L.O.Y.D Entertainment.

The concert will mark the first project for the business and will and two senior officers from Suffolk Constabulary will speak at the event about cultural diversity from a police perspective.

The concert is being held in conjunction with Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality, which is providing free food for guests.

L.O.Y.D, which stands for ‘live out your dreams’, will work with singers, song writers and film producers.
