Four people have been arrested after a robbery in Ipswich this morning left two men injured.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Hampton Road just before 2am and arrived to find two men in the street with injuries. One had sustain a deep gash to his cheek and bruising to his head, while the other had bruising and swelling to his face and head.

The men reported they had been attacked by several people who had fled and that a wallet was now missing.

Police began a search and a short time later arrested the four – a 20-year-old man, a 19-year-old man, a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl – on suspicion of robbery.

All four have now been released on police bail until March 23 pending further investigations.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have been in the area in the early hours of this morning who may have seen the incident or anyone with information about what happened to contact Ipswich CID by calling Suffolk police on 101 and quoting crime number 23556/15.
