Four males arrested on suspicion of burglary after a suspected stolen car crashed near a popular Suffolk pub have been bailed.

Suffolk police officers were called at 3.15pm on Monday to reports of a crash near to the Wild Man pub in Sproughton, near Ipswich.

The occupants of the Seat Leon were reported to have ran off and entered another car nearby, which was stopped soon after in Ulster Avenue, Ipswich.

The vehicle had been reported stolen between 11.45pm on Sunday and 8.50am on Monday. Suspects are thought to have entered a house in Tranmere Gove and stolen a purse and car keys. The white Seat Leon was then driven away.

A 17-year-old boy from Stowmarket, an 18-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man both from Needham Market, and a 25-year-old man and a 17 year-old boy both from Ipswich were all arrested on suspicion of burglary. The 25-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.

All five were brought to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. The woman has been released under investigation. The four males have been bailed and are due to return to police on September 18.
