A collision involving a motorbike and a car caused long delays on the eastbound A14 this morning.
The road was closed just after Sproughton for a short time while police officers carried out recovery work, and traffic queued for four miles eastbound at junction 53, the Whitehouse Interchange.
There were also delays on the westbound A14 at the same junction as drivers slowed down to look at the accident.
The East of England Ambulance service were called at around 6.55am, and sent an ambulance crew and rapid response vehicle to the scene.
They treated one patient, a woman believed to be in her 50s, for shock.
She was later taken to Ipswich Hospital for further treatment.
The disruption had cleared by approximately 8.30am.
