Foxhall road crash victim is recovering

A YOUNG woman, who suffered serious injuries in a crash which killed her sister and friend, is today continuing to make a good recovery.

Rebecca Harold has been in Ipswich Hospital since the Foxhall Road crash on February 21, which claimed the lives her sister Emma and friend Kate Wasyluk.

Tragedy struck near to the junction of Dover Road as the trio were walking back home after a night out at the St Clements Sports and Social Club.

Rebecca, 25, was initially treated in the intensive care unit for lower body and leg injuries but is now on a general ward and a hospital spokeswoman said she is “improving nicely”.

She was discharged from hospital to attend both the girls' funerals and was taken to Ipswich Crematorium in a wheelchair.

The Evening Star launched the Foxhall Road memorial fund following the incident in a bid to help and support the girls' heartbroken families and raise money for them. Already generous readers have donated �125 to the fund, which can be put towards anything the families wish. The Star will also make a significant donation to the fund.

Scott Nicholls, 20, of West Villa, Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, is currently remanded in custody facing two charges of causing death by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle without insurance and driving while disqualified. He is set to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on April 29 for a plea and case management hearing.
