SUFFOLK: A Hadleigh man is to run a half marathon for charity after discovering his sister had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Dan Dobson, 31, from Hadleigh, found out in 2006 that his sister Katie had MS and he decided to take action.

Now he is planning to run the EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon.

Dan’s work colleague, Aaron Eaton, 30, from Holbrook, decided to accompany Dan on his challenge, although he knows that both himself and Dan will have to spend the summer training hard for the event on October 24. Neither are experienced runners.

Dan said it is a “great opportunity to raise funds for the MS Society”, a charity that he has always wanted to support since Katie’s diagnosis.

The charity the duo are running for, MS Society, is “delighted” that the pair have decided to run in support of it.

They are hoping that colleagues from their workplace in Colchester and people that are sympathetic to their cause will support them both by donating and by cheering them on, on the streets of Birmingham later this year.
