FRIENDS have been paying emotional tributes to a young man from west Suffolk who was killed in a motorcycle crash on New Year's Eve.

Jack Tungate, 20, who was believed to live in Clare, near Sudbury, was pronounced dead at the scene in Highgate, London at around 8.15pm.

His motorcycle collided with a Peugeot car near the junction of Muswell Hill Road. An investigation is under way into the cause of the accident.

Friends of the former Sudbury Upper School pupil have been telling of their shock and leaving messages of sympathy on an online group setup on social networking site Facebook.

Lou Smith wrote: “You are going to be missed by your family and friends so much, you are very loved and no-one will ever forget that smile and the way you always put a smile on others faces. You will always be in every hearts and thoughts.”

Abigail-Jayne Knight posted: “Your going to be missed by a lot of people Jack! Save us all a place in the party up in the sky!! ..x.”

Mr Tungate's brother David wrote the family are asking for donations to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, in memory of how he was so good with children. He also posted that a funeral will take place on January 15 at St Peter's and St Paul's Church in Clare.
