ST Francis Tower, the Ipswich town centre "skyscraper" has been sold, The Evening Star reveals today.
The landmark building could be transformed from a hellhole – which has been the site of suicide plunges, fires and a headline-hitting court case where a dog was kept in possibly the filthiest flat in town – to luxury apartments.
Although everyone connected to the sale of the 16-storey residential block is staying tight-lipped about the deal, it is understood it was sold in the middle of last month for more than £1million and redevelopment is a strong option.
The new owner is Ipswich Central Limited, which has bought the freehold, but it is not known if it will be carrying out the redevelopment.
Ipswich Central Limited is a new company set up in December last year but had previously traded as Plantelite Limited.
