YOUNGSTERS sprinted into action to raise £2,000 for their school.
Pupils from Northgate High joined parents and teachers on a 5 km walk or stroll to improve their drinking water facilities.
More than 220 people took part in the weekend Parents' Teacher Association organised event – and the weather was on their side.
Headteacher Neil Watts said: "It was a good day and even the ones who walked or strolled got back within the hour.
"It is hoped to improve the water facilities for pupils across the site, for medical and educational reasons – for example for pupils who get dehydrated at play."
There were several winners in different categories. Overall winner was Year 11 pupil Michael Nessling, 15, who completed the run in 18 minutes 42 seconds.
Winner of the lower sixth category was 16-year-old Jam Kruempelmall, from Germany.
The money is still pouring in and a final total will be announced at a future date.
