AN Ipswich based charity today urged people to support an appeal to raise vital funds needed to buy beds for the people in its care.

Sue Ryder Care - The Chantry needs to raise 22,500 to buy 18 specially designed beds to help it continue to provide the very best level of care.

The electric profiling beds are designed to accommodate the mobility restrictions many of the people in the charity's care live with, offering greater independence and comfort.

The Chantry, based in the grounds of Chantry Park, provides expert and compassionate care and support for people living with serious illnesses and conditions, as well as their families and loved ones.

The fundraising team at The Chantry is encouraging the community to help throughout the remainder of February and March to raise vital funds to buy the beds.

Pam McClinton, head of healthcare said: “Electric profiling beds offer many advantages over a traditional bed in terms of accommodating mobility restrictions.

“The beds are adjustable so people in our care can sit up, lie back down and get in and out of bed at the touch of a button, providing the resident with greater independence and control.”
