Ipswich grandmother hopes to bring prestigious cleaning award home for her work keeping Sailmakers shopping centre spick and span.
Mother-of-three and grandmother-of-four, Tracy Sawkins, has been recognised for “tireless” work to keep the town’s largest shopping centre clean, working shifts of up to 12 hours, seven-days-a-week to provide “first class cleanliness” for customers.
The 47-year-old, who had previously been named the November employee of the month, shared her shock at being considered for employee of the year in East Anglia for cleaning services to Sailmakers which are described by her manager as “above and beyond”.
“It’s hard work, it really is, but I love my job,” she explained.
“It’s just nice to be recognised and know that I’m doing a good job.”
The awards ceremony will take place on January 25, at the popular OXO2 events venue in London.
