Gainsborough Library in Ipswich to remember MP Jo Cox with Great Get Together weekend activities

Gainsborough Library in Ipswich is backing the Great Get Together series of events happening nationwide in memory of Jo Cox with a weekend of activities.

On Friday, June 16, the library’s usual baby bounce and tot rock, stay and play, adult singing and family crafts will take place.

On Saturday, June 17, events will take place at the library and Landseer Park, including a five-a-side football tournament from 11am-1pm, storytime and picnic from 12-2pm and family crafts from 2pm.

On Sunday, June 18, events will get underway from 1pm including family crafts, family film show, bingo, afternoon tea quiz and games such as snooker, table football and xbox games.

The weekend will feature dozens of event across the country organised in memory of Jo Cox, the MP who was killed on June 16 last year.

Jo’s family and friends came up with the initiative following her death.
