People of all ages with a love of reading and an interest in writing, art, literature, and history took part in the Felixstowe Book Festival – with organisers delighted at the growth of the event.
It was the second time the resort had hosted the festival – opened by Suffolk Coastal MP Therese Coffey – as more than 35 authors from all over the country and abroad gave an insight into their work and the publishing world.
Alongside events at the library and Orwell Hotel, vintage tea parties, writing workshops, children’s events, and a gala dinner, at Landguard Fort a multi-arts extravaganza Holding the Fort marked the centenary of the beginning of the First World War.
The day included choirs, music, a Wall of Memories, poetry readings and historical talks.
Dr Coffey praised festival artistic director Meg Reid, who has been thrilled at how the event has taken off, and her team for their hard work in putting together the festival.
