HUNDREDS of entries to this year's Capel St Mary Flower and Produce Show made it one of the best ever.
The 32nd annual show attracted a total of 540 entries from 78 people - with big increases in the photography and cookery classes.
And the event attracted hundreds of visitors from the village and beyond.
The judges commented on the high-quality of the exhibits - particularly in the produce classes where the growing conditions in 2009 have been less than ideal.
A new cup for 2009, donated by Olive Godbold, was awarded for “Art Gallery” - for paintings in various media including water colours, oils or acrylics and pencil sketches. The cup was awarded to Kurt Glander.
