The Ipswich Town practice pitch was filled with hundreds of little Elsas and Annas coming together to enjoy a screening of Disney favourite, Frozen.

Before the film’s premiere at 10am, youngsters and adults alike belted out a rendition of the film’s hit Let It Go during a group sing-along.

Nicola Lott travelled to Ipswich from Frinton-on-Sea especially for the event with her seven-year-old daughter and Frozen fanatic, Betsy.

“It’s amazing, such a lovely opportunity,” Mrs Lott said. “And what a beautiful day, when it thundered in the night we thought ‘oh know’ but it’s turned out well.”

Rose and Badge Hardie brought along their two grandchildren, Noah, six, and two-year-old Molly.

“They are both big fans, especially Molly,” Mrs Hardie said.

Mr Hardie admitted he was looking forward to the show, in spite of already seeing it “about 100 times”.

Lizzie Van Rensburg, who had with her two-year-old daughter, Eva, said: “She loves it, I know as soon as it comes on she’s going to sit there and be entranced.”

Frozen was the first of four films that will be displayed at the football ground today as part of Open Air Cinema Day in aid of this year’s Ip-art festival.

At 12.30pm there will be a showing of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (U) and Avengers Assemble (12A) at 3.45pm.

The evening film, The Bodyguard (15) starts at 8pm.
