Gallery: Photographic memories from 1978

This week we go back to 1978 in our chronological look through The Evening Star picture archives.

Among the photographs we are remembering this week are a float from Ipswich Carnival in August, basketball teams from Deben High School, Felixstowe in March, Brownies with rag dolls in February, road safety clowns getting the message across at Halifax School in May, TV personality Patrick Mower opening the Primark store in Ipswich in September and the presentation of a minibus, at Halifax School again, in February.

Do you recognise yourself or a friend or loved one in any of the photos, and did you take part in any of the events featured in this week’s trip down memory lane?

As ever, if you have any memories you wish to share with Evening Star readers, drop us a line at the addresses below and we’ll feature your contributions at a later date.
