Karaoke competitions, press-up challenges, leg waxing stunts and so much more meant the county played its part towards raising a total of £75milllion on Red Nose Day.

Youngsters at Felixstowe Academy took part in a variety of fun activities to raise hundreds of pounds for Comic Relief.

Sixth form student and keen weightlifter Ben Cattermole was sponsored to do as many press ups as he could in three hours – and easily beat his target of 1,000 by successfully doing 1,096.

Springfield Junior School pupil Christopher Allen put on a brave face as he sacrificed his flowing locks by getting his head shaved in aid of the chairty.

Students and staff from Suffolk One in Ipswich came together to help raise money.

Events on campus included a football ‘crossbar challenge’, karaoke competitions and people paying cash to wear red.

A group of teaching staff also bravely stepped up and sang a rendition of a song by One Direction.

Sparks were flying as two electricity suppliers went head-to-head by taking part in a charity football match, which resulted in more than £700 being raised.

Haven Power and SmartestEnergy battled it out at Ipswich Wanderers’ football ground – with Haven Power proving victorious, winning 7-5.

Meanwhile, pupils at Prospect School in Argyle Street enjoyed leg waxing, cross-dressing and bike rides as part of their fundraising efforts.

Male students were sponsored to have their legs waxed and other beauty treatments were also available to all in a pop-up salon.
