Gallery: Remember nights out at The First Floor Club? David Kindred shares his photographic memories of Ipswich night spots

Christmas and the New Year have always been times to celebrate.
I have looked back this week to three venues of the past where Ipswich folk could let their hair down in the festive season.
The First Floor Club in Tacket Street was once the only late nightspot for revellers.
Ken Bean and his team would often have a queue down the stairs of the club with hundreds hoping to get in and join the fun.
Public houses are still a popular destination for a festive night out although many have closed in recent years. I feature two which have gone. The Trafalgar in Spring Road, which was between the viaduct and St Johns Road closed in 2002 and the Falcon, Playford Road, Rushmere, which closed early in 2011. Both public houses have been converted to residential use.
