PRIMARY school children were treated to a free bowling party in return for all their hard work at the Evening Star carol service.

Sprites Junior School choir are a star turn at our service every Christmas and are always immaculately prepared and a real pleasure to listen to.

In order to thank them for their efforts over the years, King Pin hosted a party for the children at their ten-pin bowling alley in Gloster Road, Martlesham Heath.

The 24 choir members, aged seven to 11, were allowed to take the morning off school in return for all the time they had spent rehearsing, and were also treated to a free lunch at King Pin.

Teacher Wendy Elliott said: “We are so grateful to King Pin and to the Evening Star for providing the opportunity for the children, because we would not have done it otherwise.

“Everyone had a fantastic time and it was lovely to reward them for their hard work because they had missed lunchtimes to come to choir practice.

“A lot of practice goes in during school and lunch times for a couple of months before the event. The children really enjoy it and it is a whole different experience for them to perform in a huge church.”
