Scrap cars and tyres were damaged in a blaze at an industrial estate near Ipswich today.
Six fire engines were called to Springbank Industrial Estate in Monument Farm Lane in Foxhall at 2.15pm.
A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “A range of outbuildings are currently on fire along with various vehicles and tyres. Cylinders have been removed to a safe location.”
The spokesman added “a number of scrap cars and tyres” were damaged in the fire.
In total, nine fire appliances are tackling the blaze. Crews are using hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
Police are directing traffic at the scene. With ongoing roadworks in Ransomes Way, rush-hour motorists face severe delays in the area.
