More than 1800 Farlingaye High students and staff paraded around Woodbridge in an assortment of costumes.

Every two years the school embarks on a sponsored walk - this year taking in eight miles of the town, with a half-way break for lunch on Kingston Playing Fields.

This year's walk was organised to raise money for canopies in the school's picnic area as well as donations to aid poverty Africa.

Headteacher Sue Hargadon said: “It's always an amazing event and the students really enjoy it.

“We seem to take over the whole town and there's a real party atmosphere.”
