Hundreds of families took advantage of the sunny weather on Wednesday and went on a hunt for wildlife in an Ipswich park.
The day at Holywells Park saw young and old trying to catch butterflies and searching for bugs, while there was also the chance for the braver individuals to hold a snake
There was also the opportunity to go pond dipping and take part in guided walks during the event, which was attended by organisations including the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, the RSPB and the Mid Anglia Herpetological and Invertebrate Club.
Shaun Norris, membership officer with the with the Trust, said: “It has been absolutely fantastic. We have had hundreds of families coming down and engaging with the Trust in all sorts of activities.
“The park has provided a fantastic place to find wildlife. We didn’t think we would find nearly as much as we have. We have found bugs, butterflies and even a frog.
“It has been a great day.”
The event yesterday forms part of a summer of activities for young people at Holywells Park.
