A SUFFOLK garden centre has won a gold medal at the Chelsea Flower Show, it emerged today.

Notcutts Garden Centre and Notcutts Landscapes in Ipswich Road, Woodbridge, have been awarded the prestigious prize for their colourful exhibition of water features, climbers and flowering plants.

The display contrasted colours and used stoneware designed to create focal points to draw the eye into other areas and tempt the view to investigate further. It also showcased two plants, the Mattocks Roses and Waterers Ericaceous.

William Notcutt, managing director of the group which has been exhibiting at the show since 1998, said: “It was fantastic when it was announced to everyone at Notcutts that we had won another gold at Chelsea.

“To win is a superb gardening accolade that is a credit to everyone involved.

“There was such a striking blend of colours and textures, which give it real impact and there is always such a buzz on the stand when the visitors come and admire the efforts of everyone.”
