Gas leak evacuation

RESIDENTS of a street in Kessingland, Suffolk, had to be evacuated after a major gas leak.

It is believed the leak may have been caused by a Mini involved in an accident some time before 11.

RESIDENTS of a street in Kessingland, Suffolk, had to be evacuated after a major gas leak.

It is believed the leak may have been caused by a Mini involved in an accident some time before 11.30pm yesterday.

There was a loud hissing noise and fears of a potential gas explosion. Residents of High Street were evacuated until about 3am today and pipeline engineers, Transco attended to mend the leak.
