AN 11-year-old girl suffered a broken leg after she stepped into the road and was hit by a car today.

AN 11-year-old girl suffered a broken leg after she stepped into the road and was hit by a car today.

The accident happened at the junction of Ellenbrook Road and Belmont Road in Ipswich's Chantry estate at around 3.37pm.

Parts of Belmont Road were closed for around two hours after the crash, which involved a Ford Ka.

The girl was taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital.
