AN 11-year-old girl is recovering today after she was in collision with a car outside an Ipswich school.
The girl, who hasn't been named, was coming out of Rushmere Hall School when she ran in to the side of a car.
She was meeting her father who was standing opposite the school in Lanark Road when the incident happened at 3.45 pm yesterday.
The girl was shaken but not thought to be seriously injured although staff called an ambulance as a precaution.
Deputy headteacher Richard Smith, confirmed an accident did take place outside the school and said: "It was going home time. The girl saw her father on the opposite side. She ran out and into the side of the car. She wasn't seriously injured.
"I have been at the school for five years and it is the first time something like this has happened. Children are well behaved and drivers are aware that children are coming out of the school and drive
slowly."
