A FINAL call to members of the Stoke High School class of 1989 was today made by the organiser of 20-year reunion.

Former classmates are set to converge on the Town Hall on Saturday, July 25 to mark two decades since the school bell rang for the final time.

More than 80 ex-students are expected at the event and they will be joined by a number of their former teachers.

The celebration is being organised by Kerry Laredo, nee Mildenhall, who has recently returned to Ipswich after eight years living in Normandy in France.

The 36-year-old said: “I'm thrilled to be back in Ipswich.

“Hopefully, the reunion will be a great night. There are people coming from as far away as Australia and California.

“I'm really excited but a little nervous.”

It will not be the first time the old school pals have been together since leaving Stoke - a ten-year reunion was held in 1999 and Kerry said the success of the event had inspired her to organise this year's gathering.

Tickets are 10 in advance or 15 on the night, and include a disco and a licensed bar.

The reunion begins at 7pm and will continue until midnight, at which point the party will continue at an Ipswich nightspot.
