A GP practice in Suffolk has been forced to close its doors today because of concerns about an unsafe chimney.
Patients of the Earl Soham Surgery, a branch of the Framlingham Surgery, have had their appointments cancelled after Suffolk Primary Care Trust's estates team identified structural problems with the building.
The village practice was closed yesterday for the protection of patients and staff and patients are being sent instead to the main surgery in Pembroke Road, Framlingham.
A spokesman for the surgery said: “We are doing all we can to ensure we continue to offer an excellent service to our patients.
“We have contacted those patients who have made appointments with us and they will be seen at our Framlingham surgery instead.
“We have plans in place to make the building safe as soon as possible, after which the surgery will operate as normal. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
