Some morning commuter trains in Suffolk were cancelled because of a break down on the line towards Manningtree.
A freight train failed on the line to London just outside Ipswich, according to the Greater Anglia website.
The train had to be towed back to Ipswich by another locomotive, but until then some passenger services were unable to travel towards London.
The 5.14am Ipswich to Liverpool Street was cancelled completely and the 7am Liverpool Street to Norwich service started from Colchester.
Additionally the 5am Norwich to Liverpool Street train was terminated at Ipswich and the 7.30am Liverpool Street to Norwich cancelled.

The operation to rescue the failed freight train, operated by a different company to Greater Anglia, was completed around 6.15am but disruption lasted until around 7.30am.
