Fed up of man's best friend being left out in the cold, a leading chain of pubs has committed to a new menu for dogs to enjoy in its establishments.
The Bury St Edmunds-based brewer Greene King, which sponsors the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand at Ipswich Town Football Club, has launched its canine friendly menu to coincide with national pet month, including starters, mains and desserts.
After months of hard work by the food development team alongside a group of canine food tasters at the brewer’s head office, the menu will be rolled out across its pubs.
Among the excellent choices on offer are chicken liver paw-te, fish and chops, mixed growl and sticky doggy pudding.
Canine nutritionist Dr Jacques Russell, who supported the development of the menu, said: “Dogs are an important part of the family and deserve to be treated to excellent food when they visit the pub just as their owners do. Our team of canine tasters have had their chops around a range of meals in the last few months and have helped us settle on a menu that we feel is top dog.
“To all dogs that visit a Greene King pub to give our new menu a try we would just like to take this opportunity to say ‘bone-appetit’!”
