Greetings from mayor for German students

GERMAN exchange students received a warm welcome in the town from newly appointed Ipswich mayor Richard Risebrow.The 14 students and two staff from Aldegrever Gymnasium, Soest, were greeted by Mr Risebrow and his wife Shirley in the Town Hall on an exchange visit to Northgate High.

The 14 students and two staff from Aldegrever Gymnasium, Soest, were greeted by Mr Risebrow and his wife Shirley in the Town Hall on an exchange visit to Northgate High.

During their week-long stay with host families the 14 and 15 year olds will take a trips to Felixstowe, Colchester and the capital where they will visit Buckingham Palace and the London Eye.

Northgate headteacher Neil Watts, said: "They have been our exchange partners for nearly ten years it is probably the best partnership we have had at the school since I have been head.

"The links are very strong and when they come over here they feel part of the Northgate family.

"While the pupils are visiting a group of year 10's are going to France on an exchange visit."
