Ipswich Star: Gusford Primary School in Ipswich has been given the funding for window replacementGusford Primary School in Ipswich has been given the funding for window replacement

The school, which is part of the Active Learning Trust, will begin a programme of replacing the school’s windows when the summer holidays begin, and is due to be completed by October.

The school says it will help minismise disruption to pupils’ learning, and will free up vital funds which are having to be pumped into maintenance costs to be used on other projects.

Headteacher Colin Tapscott said: “We are thrilled that the trust has been able to secure this funding from the DfE to help us with new windows at Gusford.

“The funding enables us to replace our current windows with far more modern alternatives, which will help us improve heat efficiency, lowering our bills so we can increase spending on important resources for the children.”

The work is part of a wider programme of improvements at the trust’s schools costing around £500,000.
