HUNDREDS of visitors are expected to be flocking to Hadleigh today as the Hadleigh Show opens its gates.

As well as visiting the many trade stands, thrill seeking visitors to Holbecks Park can watch a high octane Monster Truck display or hop on a helicopter for an exhilarating view of the grounds.

The show will be promoting agriculture and country life with farm machinery stalls, livestock and equestrian competition classes, and even a sheep shearing demonstration.

The Flower Tent will feature The Gardening Roadshow for the second year running, where a panel of experts will be answering questions and giving away prizes and goodie bags.

Tasty local produce will be on offer in the Food Hall with cheeses, ice creams, wines and liqueurs, meats and vegetables, jams and preserves, cakes and confectionaries.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy their old favourites including the art and sculpture exhibition, funfair, vintage tractors, rural craft marquee and grand parade of prize winning horses, cattle and sheep.

The countryside ring will again be found at the lower end of the field with ongoing displays featuring birds of prey, ferrets, sheep dogs, gun dogs, sheep shearing and wool spinning.

It's all happening today from 8am-6pm and tickets are £7 for adults £3 for children, £5 for senior citizens and family tickets are available for £20.
