Tarantulas, scorpions and even a small hedgehog were just some of the animals on show at the event at Ipswich County Library.

The event was run by Zoolab a company that specialises in animal handling experiences. A member of their team was on hand to tell the children more about each of the animals that were brought along.

Kate Bacon, a library and information adviser said that both the children and parents who came to the event were thrilled by what they saw. and learnt.

“Some of the children were very timid at the start but thanks to the handler they got braver,” she said.

“The children were full of questions and we would love to have them again.”

The event was part of a wider range of activities on offer by Suffolk Libraries this half term.
