IT was worth the wait!

That was the cry as fans came of UCG cinema after the first preview showing in the town of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Eager fans braved the cold November morning to see the long-awaited film which started at 8am on Saturday, and their reaction afterwards was delighted.

"It was better than I expected and was definitely worth getting up early for," said seven-year-old Holly Boyd-Lambley.

Sophie Baxter, seven, agreed, "I did not have a favourite bit, it was all my favourite."

Parents seemed to agree and one mum said she was glad she had been persuaded to make the trip by her children.

"It was wonderful, really magical and as good as we expected," she said.

Bliss Boyd-Lambley, nine, said: "It makes me want to go home and read all the books I enjoyed it so much."

Megan Baxter, nine, had already seen the film at the preview in London but this did not dampen her enjoyment this time.

"It was just as good as the first time I watched it and I can't wait for the other films to be made," she said.

It even made those who had never read the books want to rush out and start reading them.

"I thought it was excellent, I have never read any of the books but now I am going to start reading all of them," said 12-year-old Joanna Houlsham from Ipswich.
