The trampoline park, which opened at the former Gym and Trim unit in summer 2016, has been closed since Friday morning without warning or explanation.

The company appears to have suspended its phone number and Facebook page, and its website is “offline for maintenance”.

The shutters have been closed since Friday morning. It is understood birthday parties costing over £100 were due to be held this weekend.

One grandparent who arrived at Flux when it was due to open at 10am on Saturday said she had paid £150 for a birthday party at Flux for her seven-year-old granddaughter later this month.

She said: “I am angry and upset for the children who want to know if it is definitely still going ahead.

“It looks like they haven’t opened again this morning. I came here yesterday and they hadn’t opened. I think there should be some sort of sign on the entrance letting us know what is going on. It would only take two seconds for a manager. It is not the end of the world but it is frustrating.

“Our granddaughter and her friends often come here and really enjoy it.”

Another parent, who turned up at the same time with her two children aged eight and 10, was unaware that Flux was also closed on Friday.

“We are quite surprised that it isn’t open,” she said.

“We bought Groupon vouchers last week to come here for an hour from 10am to 11am but it obviously isn’t open.

“It is disappointing as the children have been here before and have enjoyed it. I think there should be some sort of notice for the public.

“We’ll head into town now and see what we can do.”

Attempts by this newspaper to reach the two London-based directors for comment have been unsuccessful. The reasons behind the closure remain unconfirmed.

A message on Flux’s website states: “Site is offline for maintenance. We are currently undergoing scheduled maintenance. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please try back soon.”

An automated telephone message states: “The number you have dialled is no longer in service. You’ll need to contact the company you are trying to call by an alternative number.”

It is understood that Flux was open on Thursday. Its usual Sunday opening hours are 9am to 7pm.

Legal & General, which owns Cardinal Park, was contacted on Friday but was unable to provide a comment.

The London-based accountancy firm for Flux declined to comment.

Flux opened at the site of the former Gym and Trim unit in July 2016, above Chimichanga.

The 9,500 sq ft site includes wall-to-wall trampolines, airbags, and dodgeball zones. It hosts fitness classes and parties.

When it opened, Pawan Parbhu, one of the company directors, told this newspaper: “Those who have come in have been very energetic, more than we were expecting - it might be the excitement of us opening.”
