Courageous adventurers from Ipswich are being sought to take part in Channel 4’s The Island with Bear Grylls, after Suffolk was one of the counties to supply the fewest applications for the show.
The programme tasks the volunteers to give up all home comforts and survive marooned on a desert island filming all their exploits, catching their own food and building their own shelters.
No experience of adventure pursuits is necessary, with anyone aged 18 or over able to apply.
Bear Grylls said: “We take food, shelter, warmth for granted; we barely have to expend any time and energy to get them.
“I want to find out what happens when you strip people of all the comforts of modern life.”
To apply email applyisland@shine.tv stating your reasons for wishing to enter. The deadline is Monday, August 15.
