Suffolk’s Director of Public Health, Abdul Razaq, is leaving the council at the end of October to move back to the North West of England – prompting a mini-reshuffle of top jobs at the county council.
Mr Razaq said: “As a servant for the public’s health, it has been my immense pleasure and privilege to have worked with you all in Suffolk. Thank you for your support during the last two years and I wish you all the very best in your forthcoming endeavours.”
Nicola Beach, chief executive of Suffolk County Council, said: “I know Abdul has very much enjoyed working and living in Suffolk and is looking forward to the future with positivity and relish.
Dr Amanda Jones will be covering the Director of Public Health role on an interim and part-time basis.
Meanwhile the county is seeking a new executive director of growth, highways and infrastructure on a salary of up to £130,000 a year – filling a role that has been vacant for several months.
