AN area of heathland was engulfed by fire on the golf course in Rushmere.
A fire crew from Colchester Road headquarters were alerted to the blaze at 8.40pm last night.
They arrived to find 15 square metres of heathland on fire but were able to control the flames by 9.05pm before they the fire could spread further.
