A HELICOPTER had to winch a casualty to safety after their single-handed speedboat began to sink in the Essex coast.Coastguards and lifeboats from Walton and Clacton were called to an area between Walton and Clacton piers at about 5pm yesterday after a boat started to take on water.
A SEARCH and rescue helicopter from Wattisham had to winch a casualty to safety after a single-handed speedboat began to sink off the Essex coast.
Coastguards and lifeboats from Walton and Clacton were called to an area between Walton and Clacton piers at about 5pm yesterday after a boat started to take on water.
The helicopter had to rescue one casualty who was taken ashore by 5.40pm.
The craft was eventually recovered from the sea.
