LITTLE Lauren Harper-Finlayson will never again see the dad who so tenderly kissed her goodnight.

Who fed her, cared for her, listened to her problems and shared the highlights of her young life.

At the age of four, she is too young to understand why Derek Finlayson, the man she knew as her dad, has died.

Today we bring you Derek's poignant and powerful story, and reveal how he had been trapped in a spiral of drug-taking which he'd fought to break out of – but failed – and the tragic impact on his nearest and dearest.

It's not just the victims' lives who are ruined by drug dealers.

Derek died after taking a heroin overdose, at a time when his girlfriend Sarah and Lauren were planning to move to Suffolk to join him and rekindle their relationship.

Sarah remains angry at the people who sold Derek the drugs and broke his determination to live a clean life, and she is appealing for anyone who knows a drug dealer to stop them by telling the police – before another

victim loses their life and another family loses a beloved relative.
