The A14 has re-opened after a lorry overturned but high winds are still causing traffic problems across the region.

TRAFFIC problems in Suffolk have eased this evening after an afternoon of chaos today.

Belstead Road in Ipswich was reopened around 7.45pm after a tree blocked the road at around 12.35pm leaving it closed while tree surgeons worked on removing the tree

Meanwhile the windy weather caused electricity cables to come down in Pin Mill Road, Chelmondiston, at about 2pm resulting in the road being blocked in both directions until around 7.30pm.

And a 14 ton lorry which overturned on the A14 near Stowmarket blocking both lanes of the Ipswich-bound carriageway has also now been moved.

The lorry turned onto its side at about 1.40pm and caused long tailbacks but it was removed by about 4pm.
