Excitable families are expected to gather next month as the Coca Cola truck pulls into town.

The truck will be returning to Ipswich after huge queues of people waited to take a selfie alongside it last year.

The red American-style lorry - as featured in Christmas adverts for the global fizzy drinks brand since 1995 - makes pit stops around the country each year, bringing festive cheer and free pop to fans, plus the opportunity for a selfie.

This year, it will stop off at Ipswich’s Asda store on the Whitehouse Industrial Estate between 11am and 7pm on Friday, December 1.

Visitors will have the chance to have their photos taken with the decorated lorry and free cans of Coke will be handed out.

For some people, the first screening of the Coca Cola advert on TV, which is always set to the catchy “Holidays are coming” jingle, signals the start of the Christmas period.

The truck has made 397 stops around the country since 2011 and is lit by 372 bulbs and 8,772 fairy lights to give it that Christmas sparkle.
