ANOTHER prisoner has absconded from Hollesley Bay prison in Suffolk.Police are appealing for help in tracking down Edward McDonagh, 34, who was reported missing from the open prison shortly after midnight today.

ANOTHER prisoner has absconded from Hollesley Bay prison in Suffolk.

Police are appealing for help in tracking down Edward McDonagh, 34, who was reported missing from the open prison shortly after midnight today.

McDonagh, who was serving a sentence of four years and eleven months for theft of motor vehicles is believed to have left the prison shortly before that time.

He is described as white, 5ft 9ins, of stocky build with a ruddy face and dark hair.

He speaks with a broad Irish accent and it is believed he has connections in the Middlesex area.

Anyone who spots McDonagh should not approach him, but should dial 999 immediately.

Today the Evening Star reveals that 130 prisoners have absconded from the prison in the last five years.

Including McDonagh, 17 of them are still at large.
